In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top communication apps on Android in New Zealand showcased varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Snapchat saw a consistent increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $6.9K towards the end of October. Downloads were steady, with a noticeable rise to approximately 4.5K in the week of December 23. Active users fluctuated, reaching a high of about 280K mid-December.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out experienced a gradual increase in revenue, hitting $5.3K in late December. Downloads also grew, peaking at over 3.1K in the week before Christmas. Active users remained stable, maintaining around 140K throughout the quarter.

Telegram reported a revenue peak of around $2.3K in mid-December. The app's downloads spiked to over 3.2K in early December, while active users showed a slight decline, ending the quarter at around 106K.

Skype had a relatively stable revenue, with a slight decrease to about $0.5K by the end of December. Downloads remained consistent around 450, while active users fluctuated, closing the quarter at nearly 12K.

Rakuten Viber Messenger observed a revenue peak of $0.6K mid-December. Downloads were stable, with a rise to 413 in the week of December 23. Active users increased steadily, reaching about 28.5K in late November.
